Another day of remembrance in Texas today. At about 6AM on the morning of March 6th, 1836, defense of the Alamo fell and begat the battle cry heard across the plain of San Jacinto..

Great snag, Scott. My K22 was picked up in 1978. A local smith, Steve Velchoff, was an artist at building top grade PPC revolvers. While he was working on mine, I had the bright idea of a K22 understudy for when I was too tired to load 38 wadcutters. I had Steve order one then do his magic on it bef...

I learned to shoot a center fire rifle with a 35 Remington at the age of 13. My uncle loaned it to me for a year prior to my first deer hunt. It was a Remington model 8, hooked steel buttplate and all. After that, the recoil of 270's and 30-06's was never a problem.

According to page 563 of the Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions, the .44Sp/Russian case is too large in diameter at the head and therefore recommends that the .220 Swift case be cut and trimmed to length (.88"), and inside reamed. It is listed with a bullet diameter of .423".

Have the shop verify and guarantee that it is truly a S&W. The Spanish copies are worthless and can sometimes be dangerous. Then under good light check the barrel very carefully for internal bulges. They are more prone in .32-20 revolvers than other calibers.
