I will probley shoot the easy stuff in the Uberti, and load alittle hot with the Ruger. Its good to have the heavy stuff on hand to load for self-defense. I would never use +P in either of them.

I purchased a box of .45 Cal ammo from Buffalo Bore the 255 grain for self-defense only, so is that a problem in your mind for the New Ruger Vaquero.

Great batch of firearms. Ruger does make a heck of a six shooter. I can't think of anything that goes better together then a "Lever Action Rifle backed up by two Ruger Six Shooters" :D

Ya, and he has a good rep on getting the job done as well. I got his name from the local gun store where I purchased the revolver. I got my grips in only 3 days. I plan to order another set for my satin stainless super blackhawk .44 mag . I just love his work.

Thanks guy's. I have been using the 225 grain silver tips in my Uberti Colt 45 clone so I guess I'll just keep using that same ammo for the Vaquero. The silver tip is a round to be reckened with I think.

I know this is not a levergun question, but I just purchased a stainless steel .45 cal New Vaquero six shooter from ruger and It looks tough enough to handle more then soft cowboy loads. Good Looking revolvers. I just got through sanding down the grips on mine and putting stainer on. I got pretty good groups out of my 51, and 1860 while out hunting. Great guns these black powder revolvers.(Love umm)

I have not had that kind of call before but I have folks calling asking for money/support for vet's and such. What I do is tell them to send me something in the mail so I can check them out. Never do business or give out anything over the phone if you don't know that Org,etc.

Thanks Rihmfire, The gap on mine is real small as well, but I noticed even with the small gap the rubber has a tight seal way inside againt the metal so Now that I look at it I don't think water will be able to get in and that was what I was worried about.

When I bought my Marlin 45-70 (used)the front sight was straight but when I took it off and replaced it with the XSights systems (Front sight and ghost rings for rear)the front sight mounted off to the left, All i did was make a rear sight adjustment at the range works fine.

I have figured out that I ordered the wrong grips. I ordered for square and not round ends. I needed round. The combat grips that were on the revolver were square but when I took them off the metal hand frame was round. Thats what I get for being lazy. But the grips will be fine. I can live with it....

I sure would hate to waste the $$$ i spent on these. The grips look really nice and feel great. I wounder if maybe filling the gap with some liquid rubber. It should come off pretty easy if I ever need to take off the grips.
