Re: 300 H&H MAG

My daughter gave me a Ruger #1 in a 300 RCM - 5/8" 100 yd group with Hornady factory 180s at just under 3000 pps. I think the Ruger #1 in 300 H&H is a classic natural. Here is a picture of the rifle - even the light barrels can be quite accurate and you have a lot of barrel length for the ...

Doc, I like that pitch black group.
I've got a dog 'yote worrying the barn some nights, he also has put a stalk on me and Jack, (my ACD), while on our morning walk a few times. Can't seem to get one off at him, thinking about a better low light setup than the M27 Smith and a Maglite.

I was taught to always leave your dovetails tight, fit the sight to the dovetail not the dovetail to the sight. This way if, (when), you screw up you only have a buggered up sight, not the barrel.

Beef franks, Nathans are real good, on the grill 'till they split. Sweet relish, mustard, chopped onions, ketchup and a touch of celery salt works good, better yet is Morse's 'kraut and a touch of mustard.

My understanding is that parallax is the appearance of the sight reticule being on the same plane as the target. Wouldn't this mean that if you had a consistent hold and eye alignment with the sights it would be a non issue??
I have mounted many center fire scopes on .22rfs and had very good results.
