I caught the end of it when they had the shoot off. Looked like Rick took the ammo out of a factory box so he may have loaded some 45-70 ammo. One thing that the shop has stated several times is that they only buy pre 1898 guns (antiques)

Go for it and enjoy. I've been shooting these two for years. Picked up the Polish 1953 dated M44 in Germany back in 89' and started reloading for it then as surplus ammo wasn't that common. Few years later picked up this 91' 1904 Tula modified to a Scout Rifle. Old Bushnell Phantom scope didn't hold...

While interesting, I do not think Remington will continue to support. They do not have a track record in a long time supporting new cartridges that they come out with. They should have chambered it in 6.8 SPC, which alot of hunters are choosing in the AR15 and its their cartridge! Look how many rifl...

Don't forget the Winchester/Browning 1895 in 30-06. Browning also chambered a few in .270 Win. I used to own a Browning 95 in 30-06 during the 90s and mounted a Williams reciever sight to it. No problems hitting 300m if you do your part.

86er, I would also recommend the H&R in .357. You could also add a bipod to the forearm. Ruger also makes the compact Hawkeye in 6.8 SPC. Since the .223/5.56 is legal in Texas have you considered a lightweight AR15 carbine? A standard M4 is 5.9 lbs empty. Find one with the lightweight 16" b...
