Not a Remington I know that. Unmarked yes I checked. Seems like a 44 cal. Webley or Russian?

Great question! No I don’t think the government stamp means a light enough load for trapdoor, although I am not aware of any factory loads on the market that are not made for trapdoor. Since I load for several 45-70 rifles, I need to mark very clearly the brass. A little v cut in the rim for light l...

I was looking for a 92 in a 357 mag for a while. I figured I would someday get a Italian or Brazilian model. A Japanese one came up at a gun shop a few miles away. Love my levers, but have picked up a couple slide action 22's this summer and they are fun too.
I like the look of the Uberti and would like a 357 this time.

My local gun shop just got in...........
1873 Winchester oct long barrel in a 22 short. I didn't know they existed. Are they rare? I offered them a thousand because I've seen 44-40 in this good condition asking $5,000. They said it just came in and needs to be appraised. So they wouldn't price it yet.

Re: Been a while. Just got a nice 1894 Marlin 44-40.....
I found out it from the twenties, a musket that the factory changed back to sell. They had their own number stamp, a notch was from cutting off a lug not needed.
When I went to shoot it, it was missing the firing pin. Who knows why, but the gun shop will fix it.

I'm not quite sure of whitetail hunting loads yet, but my loads copied from KirkD's post worked great of accuracy. He has done a great job with the 44-40 , so get it right from his posts.
