O.T. - Outdoor store - Fort Worth

Post by cavebob »

Arrive in Texas from Australia in a few weeks for a driving trip through Arkansas and across to the coast. Seek recommendations for a good camping goods store in Fort Worth.

Thanks

There's always Cabela's on I-35W, just on the north side of Ft.Worth.

You'll pass a good Bass Pro Shop on I-30 if you're going that way towards Arkansas. Feel free to call me and have lunch on your way.

Sounds like a fine idea, 86er. If I can arrange to be in town, I like to invite myself along. There's an REI store on the LBJ Freeway (635 loop), north of Dallas along with any number of others. Cavebob, if you know what you're looking for I could probably give you better directions or steer you to a better priced store.

If you are flying in to DFW airport, then the Bass Pro Shops that 86er mentioned is the easiest for you to get to. The Cabela's in Ft Worth would be back tracking for you, as would the Bass Pro Shops on I635 near Grapevine. I have been to all 3 stores, and can find anything that I want, need, or wish for at any one.

I'm in the DFW area also in case you need any help. BassPro, Cabela's, and REI have it covered pretty well, but there are a few smaller backpacking type shops around also.
