Sight update on my old duty gun.

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

Toward the end of my law enforcement career and on occasions that I get called up, I carried a Les Baer gun that is flawless in almost every way.

BUT the sights were always too sharp and somewhat difficult to see.

I went by Dawson Precision a couple of weeks ago in my way to a speaking engagement and dropped off the slide.

It came back today with a radiused rear sight with a wider notch and a low profile but easy to see tritium front sight. I can see these quite well. Good people to do business with.

.
I'm having the same 'old eyes' issues.

So far the Marble's rear (rifle) sight seems to be coming to the rescue - fast and easy to acquire even in low light (and easy-peasy with a light at night).
The only issue is fitting to the rear dovetail, as pistols are anything but standard. Plus you'll need a front sight somewhere between 'regular' and 'suppressor height'.

Definitely works better for me than the popular 'red dot' sights - partly because I can't see the dot UNTIL the sight is aligned - for me, the whole point is to use the dot TO align the sights, which is possible with the Marble's rear and fiberoptic front, as you see the dot right-off, long before things are fully aligned.

Nice. I like those. I don't think I've heard of Dawson before.

Dawson Precision is a little off the beaten track but they make great sights and a lot of other shooting related stuff.
