this isn't like my little Marlin 1894 or Rossi 92 - for this 16" gun, it takes a whole CREW to load one, and as far as I know, a battleship to mount it on...
Got the USS Iowa, the first of the class, literally down the street. What I find sort of interesting is that these ships were huge for their day. When a cruise ship passes by either coming into port or leaving the battle ships look small.
But this will give some idea of just how big these rifles are. That's right "rifles". The barrels are rifled, cannon barrels are smooth bore.
