Barrel Twist for heavy 45 Colt?

What's the range of barrel twist that would maximize stability for a 350 Grain .45 Colt load??

According to the articles I read by Glenn Fryxell on the 1894 Marlin the 94 in 45 Colt has a twist of 1 in 16". He claims that that will stabilize bullets of 368gr with no problems. I have a Marlin 1894 in 45 Colt and have shot bullets of 330gr. which seemed to shoot well .There were no signs of instability.

I have owned two .45 colt leverguns. A Marlin cowboy comp. and a Cimm. Arms. 92 solid frame. Neither shot worth sh-t. Good luck with yours. 1886.

I have two .45Colt leverguns: EMF/Uberti 1873 clone and a EMF/Rossi 1892 copy. The standard 1 in 16" SHOULD stabilize a 350gr bullet at "standard" .45Colt velocities.

I have a Marlin Cowboy in .45 Colt purchased in 1997. It has the slower 1/38 twist barrel. It will stabilize a 350 gr. bullet, BUT the velocity needs to be at least 1,350 f.p.s. to do so.

20/296 (NOT FOR 73's!!) goes 1,390 f.p.s. (24") and is accurate to 500 meters.

I have an Armi San Marco mfg'd EMF Hartford 1892 Win. replica rifle which has a 24" octagon 1"-in-12" twist Clerke barrel on it. Works real good on 300 & up. BTW, it's .45 Colt chambered. jd45

I have a Win 94 legacy in .45 colt. I don't know what the rate of twist is. I am looking for volunteers to hold targets with 325 gr @ 1500fps. you better bring your grilling gloves. .Jim.
