Anyone have handy the rear site dimensions for Glock and 1911 that use dovetail?

.
I want to try my Marbles Bullseye sight set up on a Glock back. It appears that the do tail rear sight on a Glock is not only narrower, but I think maybe a different cut angle.

I suppose I can do some looking and find some hopefully reliable measurements, but just curious if anybody happen to have them handy.

Here’s the thread I posted a while back on the set up. I did with a 1911.

This set up is so much leaner and cleaner than a red dot, doesn’t require batteries, and for me as much easier to rapidly acquire the sight picture, partly because with the red dot sight you have to be in the window and at least reasonably on-axis to even see the dot. With the Marbles Bullseye rear and Williams Firesight front it is VERY fast and accurate. Here’s a comparison photo the best I can do….

Anyway, not being able to have that sight set up on a Glock has been kind of a dealbreaker, but I’d like to give my Glock another chance at becoming my CCW gun.

I did find this, but I’m not necessarily sure how accurate any of it is.

Doc, I just went upstairs to my bedroom to get my G23 and took it to the basement to my bench. Im exhausted! :D
So as close as I can measure with my calipers the bottom of the dovetail is .275+/-
The depth of the dovetail is .070-.075. Without drifting out the rear that's about as close as I can get you. These are replacement night sights that replaced the first set of night sights i put on back in '92.

Hope this can help you figure out your quandary.

Ooooh - good idea - I have a set of spare ghost-ring tritium sights I can measure, at least as far as the width (angle may be harder, but I've read it is 78 degrees or something like that.

Thanks for helping me think of that. Now I'M exhausted...

It looks like if I do this project there will be enough filing (due not just to the angle, but the seemingly much narrower width of the dovetail) that I will need to make a filing jig or even a dremel-cutting-wheel jig.

But if it works it will be worth it...!

Doc, you might find the dimensions for Glock dovetail by looking at , say Brownells and searching the replacement sights descriptions. Or give Glock a call and ask the source.
