Picked up a couple more replacements.

Post by 2ndovc »

It's been almost ten years since I ended up in the hospital with a respiratory infection. Almost a month in a medical coma and three more recovering before I could go home. My family was told more than once that I wasn't going to make it. Happily I proved them wrong!!

When I did get home, I found out that my dad had decided to sell off a good chunk of my collection to pay the bills.
Most of it I didn't really care about and stuff easily replaced, except for a few. My 1911s were gone along with a few others that
I've really had to search for.

The Winchester 9422 in .22 Magnum was kind of by accident. It's in near perfect condition, just like the one I had.
The other, a '93 vintage Colt Sporter Lightweight. Finding the right one in the same condition as the one I had and for a fair price as well.
For whatever reason, the early Sporters are going for some bigger bucks than you would think.

I learned a lot from that little carbine. How bullet weight and barrel twist can really effect the accuracy.
The first time I had it out, shooting 55 gr surplus ammo, I couldn't do much better than a 6" group at 100 yds.
I mentioned this to a friend of my dads that did a lot of competition shooting at Camp
Perry and he kindly 'splained what I was doing wrong. Back out to the range w/ sone 62 grn. and 75 grn. bullets I fount that
the little carbine was capable of 1" or less at 100 yds.!
So after all this time, I have another one that I will not part with. At least willingly. :D

I haven't had a chance to shoot them yet will get out for a range report as soon as I can.

Jason you really found a good one in that 94/22- looks minty!
Yeah I have ARs, I don't like them, don't shoot em much as they are soulless to me but I'm glad you found a replacement that suits you.
Job well done!
