I went out yesterday to zero my M94 Carbine. Hadn't shot it since last year, and my previous sight setting i wasn't satisfied with. I had done all the windage adjustments by drifting the front sight, and I believe a zero at 50yds was hitting too far right at 100yds, so I started over, and basically put the front sight to as near center barrel as I could. So I did the adjustments by only slight drift of rear sight.
I did this with Win 170gr PP'S, all shots at 50 yds.
Then I shot only 1 shot each with my reloads of Nosler 170gr Partition, Hawk 170gr, and last a 3 shot group with Hornady IL 170gr.
I'm really liking this rifle more, and I'm likely to deer hunt with it some, according to when I'm still hunting steep, brushy & heavy timbered places, which is most normal here! But ill no doubt hunt primary places with my Rem 700 270Win.

Re: Getting em ready
The dumbest thing I ever did was selling my 94src...
hope you get a Deer with yours.

Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Re: Getting em ready
Took it back out yesterday right after daylight, primarily to just walk in woods in low light, shoulder it at many make-believe deer=stumps, logs trees, anything! To test my eyes with the sights in hunting conditions, something I'd not done with this rifle! I'd taken it when I first got it few times, mostly mid day walks, and i found i love the sights! The front bead is i thought brass, now I'm thinking it's silver? But don't matter, dusk to dawn, I see em as good as any open sights I've ever used! Worst scenario, is me standing in bright light, my glasses give a shine on top sometimes that appears kinda like a shiny small bead on top the real bead, but I've gotten used to that. In average to low light, it's a great sight! Especially aiming back into dark timber, and the most likely scenarios I'm most likely to encounter in our November gun season! In other words, it's a great all around hunting sight!
Then I shot just few on paper, but that gets boring, I know what it'll do now, and it shoots a number loads to near same POI! Best all, it's just so natural and offhand quick shooter, which is the real icing on cake! Out 100-125yds, I can still make good hunting shots with Irons!
But I've always shot my best at fun- challenging targets out in woods duplicating hunting shots. Way I used to always practice? Rocks, Spot on tree, Pop Can, etc!
Shot these and results were fun & beneficial, three different loads, couple milk jug of water, and last my breakfast bottle of Ensure. Best results was, soon as I got there, low light, on one knee, resting front forearm on my 4w, I shot a jug @ 95yds with the Hornady 160ftx, almost perfect shot! And it like my other 30-30s does well with Win PP 170gr Factory, my old standby. And it'll shoot my reduced 130gr Speer HC&3031 more accurate than I'm able! All three were 1st n only shots with that load at that target. 1st shot only one matters!
