On my way back from Del Rio—powders

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

I picked up a can of Rd Dot in Uvalde (haven’t seen any in some time).

Then I picked up six cans of Unique in Hondo. They had 28 pounds out in the barn.

That’s over 5000 rounds for the common handgun rounds that I shoot. I’m good for a long time.

Don’t disregard smaller shops in your travels.

Couldn't agree more, Scott. About 15 years ago we were living in Washington State and we were traveling down a back road outside of Olympia. We came upon this small gun shop and decided to stop. They had eight pound canisters of all the powders I use, something I couldn't find at any of the shops I frequented in Washington or Oregon. Since then I make it a practice to check every small shop I come across.

Great score! It's been a long time since I've seen a can of Red Dot in a store!

Good score, I think that I bought the last pound of Unique in town here around a year ago.

When I was in Del Rio back in the '90's I bought my reloading supplies at the True Value, it was handy.

Oh I got paid to go to federal court in Del Rio so it’s a bonus to pick up a little powder.
