I know the feeling, Doc. There's a Costco store in town, about 30 miles away. I have shopped there for years. After I get used to items that I use nearly every day, suddenly they're gone from the shelves. A brand of pickles, a certain type of turkey breakfast sausage, store brand decaf coffee and the list goes on. I've always had the feeling thet Costco doesn't respond to inflation, they drive it. Additionally, they change the locations of popular items every week so that customers have to go searching for them, presumably to increase impulse purchases. I'll continue to shop there although I'm aggravated by their business policies.
Heinz Hamburger dills , gone . Hellmans mayo gone yuppie , ruined . Date Nut Bread in the can , gone . Boone County chili beans and School days peas , gone . Lea & Perrins Bold Steak sauce , gone . French's sweet onion mustard, gone. IMR 4320 , gone . Winchester 680, gone . Just a very short list of the many things I am missing.

Hmmm , I wonder if your iced tea was coming from a communist country Doc?
Yes diesel is easier to crack, what's worse is this country runs on diesel. Pretty good reason why things are more expensive.
680 is gone but you can still get 1680 which is a direct replacement.

Why is diesel more expensive than gasoline when it is supposedly processed to a lesser degree than gas?
Supply and demand. Diesel contains more energy per gallon, and the engines extract a greater percentage of that as useful work. One can pay more per gallon and still come out ahead. Also, it's the fuel of choice in many counties for cars. As I recall, the US is an importer of gasoline and an exporter of diesel.
