Looks like armed citizens are safer and more effective; not necessarily 'better than cops', but thy have the advantage of already being on-site, already knowing what happened, and already knowing the key players. They also have the element of surprise, being without uniforms, and not arriving with sirens blaring.
...but some would still say "only police and military are responsible enough to have guns..."
I am extremely wary of armed British police officers as I have witnessed some bizarre behaviour and attitudes with firearms, I have seldom had a problem with civilian gun owners.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
The old saying of never cop around when you need one is true enough. Not a slight against those on the job but it is true.
Those who carry daily are there when the poop hits the fan.
IF some of the students at FSU ( or any other school shootings)were trained gun people this still would have happened but the odds are it would not escalate to multiple dead/ wounded.
Personally I put my trust in myself and those I know well before others.
One thing I've believe is with law enforcement that most are not gun people. Meaning they don't shoot matches, for fun. They do their qualifications a couple few times per year but don't burn powder otherwise. I lose trust in that.
I have the highest respect for law enforcement don't get me wrong but I don't trust them when hoglegs clear leather.
