There's an animal rescue outfit on the west side of Cleveland that I've been donating to for years. It's run by a Cleveland Dog Warden and she is great at finding homes and fosters for dogs that need a second chance.
Recently got an email about some Cane Corso puppies that were going to be available. I've wanted one for years and also wanted a female to break up the territoriality a bit. One hundred years plus, of animals have been through this old house and the boys are trying to claim it for themselves.
This is Evie. She's only seven weeks old now, has to finish up all her shots and get fixed but I should be able to pick her up in 2-3 weeks. Can't wait!
Here's a like to what she should look like at 130-140 lbs or so. https://www.hogarmania.com/archivos/202 ... XxXx80.jpg

I read about them when we were looking for a Great Dane. Similar temperament and look like someone mixed a Dane and Pitt together.
I refuse to crop ears and dock tails. It's not like she's going to be out running wild boar to ground. Mainly a big back up alarm system for my little dogs. My Dane was all black and scared the heck out of most people, but she was a very mellow dog unless something bad was about to go down. One day a Doberman came out of it's house through a screen door and charged our JRT. I thought Lucy was going to tear it apart. She did scare it off within seconds.

Am I reading right, she will be spayed at 8-10 weeks old!? Normally that's done around 10 months old. I understand it has to be done but I've learned that puppies benefit from the hormones of their reproductive systems, less cancer risk later in life, not as much joint issues etc.
I was only around 1 Cane Coroso, he wasn't a friendly dog persay but boy did he take good care of his children!
Congratulations on fulfilling you dream of a C.C. Jason. We look forward to seeing her grow up! Keep the pictures coming.
Not thrilled about the timeline, but it's their rules. All of their dogs and cats are fixed before they leave. Too many unethical people out there. If I remember correctly, my Lab was spayed at 12 weeks and she lived to be 16 without a single issued. Toughest and healthiest dog I've ever had.
I've had enough dogs to know they are all different. I can tell you one thing though, every dog I've had has lived well beyond their projected "life expectancy".
The meanest breed I've ever come across have consistently been Dalmatians. Every one I've ever met had been a dog that I wouldn't have in my house.
Bill,
That was a very nice thing to say. Evie will be extremely well taken care of. I never had any kids of my own and my dogs have always been my family. They're even in my will!

Gotta have something to feed the bad guys to, if they dared to come through that door. Pretty unlikely out here in the farmlands though. It's darned quiet, especially with the weather we have had this winter so far. supposed to be 2 degrees F on Monday.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family! I love the big breeds, but houses here are cramped, to say the least, not leaving much space for larger canines. A cane corso is up there on the "I wish I could" list, though. Folks thought I was jumping the gun when I had Biscuit (English bull dog/Pitbull mix) spayed at around 5 months age. She started marking territory (as opposed to just relieving bladder) and I figured I'd rather have her factory shut down before she came in season. Blackie (generic mongrel mutt) we spayed at about 6 months. Biscuit is now 9 and a half years old and Blackie 7 and a half years old. The only health issues have been due to not understanding puppy bone development and allowing Biscuit to learn to climb ladders (her own initiative) when she was young enough to cause hip problems later. Careful diet adjustment and some homeopathic pills have helped her to overcome most of that. May Evie give you many years of loving companionship!
