Step right up and get your '73 Winchester clone in 44 Magnum. New this time around is the pistol grip and optional Picatinny rail ( ). They sort of hint the steel is different in the 44 and 45 versions, but I've seen that debated with regard to the earlier versions.
I've owned, briefly, two new Uberti over the years, both of which proved to be junk. Still, that importer's '66 Deluxe carbine would be tempting were it available sans engraving. Of all the early Winchesters I've handled at auction houses, that configuration fit me best.
At our range, some of the Cowboy shooters do like their '73s, although one confessed he had to put a lot of work into his. There have been just enough fellows who like their Uberti is why I say I could be tempted--but haven't bought.
Looking in my notes this morning for something else, I came across those for the Uberti '73 in 44 Mag. A 2015 forum post said that at introduction, Uberti talked about using different steels in the 44 Magnum. I noticed, however, that the parts list on the factory site gives the same part numbers for the links and receivers in the 44-40 and 44 Mag versions, but the factory site isn't really up to date.
A 2020 forum post by the owner of a 44 Mag model said the links are visibly different. He tried a short stroke kit in his and promptly bent the links. Even with the factory links, case stretch is such that 44 Spl cases soon separate, but 44 Mag cases held up well enough.
Lastly, I recall exchanging with an Aussie a few PMs on some forum. He quite liked his Uberti 44 Mag and regretted trading it off on some other rifle.
It's an interesting idea, to see an 1850s design used for a modern, heavy smokeless round. I was surprised it would work (as evidenced by my recording notes on the idea), but it's not for me.
I have 3 Uberti toggle links, all in 45 Colt. My '73 Sporting rifle was one of the 1st 5 imported into the US in late 1986 by EMF. It's original purchaser had to send it back to have the extractor fixed. After waiting for 6 months, shortly after getting it back, he sold it to me in 1987. The extractor broke on me in 1990, and I took the easy route and replaced the bolt with a new assembly. It was my main CAS rifle until 2014 when I bought a Short Rifle version with the ½rnd/oct rifle. I replaced all the springs except the main spring in both '73s and an 1860 Henry I purchased in 2009. No other work has been required. The Henry is the Iron Framed version.

Oh yea, although these are only a 160 grain RFN, it's not a wimpy load... think 45ACP power.
