Plans for tomorrow

Post by Steve in MO »

Is anyone doing anything different for tomorrow? Everyone is talking about chaos erupting no matter who wins, so what are your plans to avoid such silliness?

Since we're in a more rural area, we're not changing our routines. Once I drop the grandgirls off at school I'm going to go to our church and vote. Household 6 will go when she gets off work (she works from home.) I have a VA appointment today, so I'm gonna grab a couple of things at Costco. That's as far as my preparations need to go, we're already well provisioned.

I don't expect anything to happen here, unlike places like Kansas City and St. Louis. Definitely not going anywhere near those!

Praying for our country, no matter who wins. Something as filthy as politics should never keep us from recognizing that first and foremost we are fellow Americans and citizens of a great nation dedicated to the highest principles humanity has yet known.
... And praying for God to spare us from poor losers.

I am not expecting anything violence in my rural area. That being said, I am prepared for the worst and like Bill am praying for our leaders and for peace.

Amen!

But no, I’m not going to do anything out of the ordinary.

Not really changing anything. Never been any issues out here on the peninsula even during the biggest riots.

Since I retired I haven't had any real need to go into L A or the surrounding ghettos. I let the hood rats run free there to burn and loot at will.

I'm not too concerned unless they finally figure out they can cause a real disaster by targeting oil and chemical plants instead of stealing shoes.

I suspect that the LAFD and other departments will drag out their privately owned Kevlar.

I voted in person last week. Well run and organized. Don't expect much here in OH as far shenanigans'.
Will go armed as usual because you never know. I'd think that Wednesday will be the day that the chaos begins.

I'd expect the same losers who cause trouble to do something regardless of who wins. Those types just want an excuse to create chaos.
But I doubt I'll even turn on the TV to see who won. Eventually somebody will tell me, but I avoid the news like the plague.

Agreed. Wednesday the excrement hits the spinning blade. Will stay out of the city for a while... but heck, I avoid the city at all costs anyway.

Jason, you don't think there will be shenanigans in OH? Your state could easily flip control of the Senate - well, at least I hope so! I expect a lot of cheating due to this.

Just returned from the polls. Took longer to drive there and back than to make my vote.
Seemed to be a ton of vehicles at town hall but the building was practically empty...
Here is quite rural so I'm not concerned about anything happening.
Like Jason says, I too avoid cities so I'm not concerned about that. The folks who cause the trouble would be scared to come out from under their street lights to wreak havoc.
So I cast my ballot - any guesses for whom?

These polls are very confusing to me and I’m looking forward to when people stop telling me what they meant.

I hope we do. Sharrod Brown has been in the Senate for 30+ years and has done nothing. Complete socialist that votes in lockstep with the Party.

Ohio is pretty solid when it comes to voting. You have to show a current and valid ID. Any mail in ballots are reviewed for errors, if there are any they are discarded. The ballots are recorded and you can track them online. I've only done that once and this was the first time voting early and in person.
If there's any real BS going down, it will most likely be the east side of Cleveland. Those are rough neighborhoods that I don't go into anymore, but when I did, it was always before noon. 10 AM was even better.

Went and voted after dropping the grands off at school. Got there at 8:10am and there were already several people there. Not just the older retired folks, but younger families, some of whom brought their children. There was nothing amiss, and I don't expect there will be around here.

I believe the country is releasing a collective sigh of relief- for the moment anyway.
Even money there will be repercussions from the left yet.
I'm curious to see if the SPAM calls will abruptly stop today, past week the house phone has been ringing every 15 minutes!

I really have to restrain myself from going to my neighbor across the street and rubbing it in. Or painting "loser" on his Harris-Waltz sign in the front yard! ;)

My wife just told me she saw Taylor Swift crying on a video over the election results. I told her Swift was probably crying because her inflated ego is hurt after she told her followers how to vote and Harris still lost. She found out she doesn't have the fans she thought she had.

I early voted late last week... on the way back a friend called and asked if I'd voted... I said "yes" and he then asked who for. I told him that was personal and he didn't have a valid reason to know. He argued for a while, then asked, "well what do you think of the two Presidential candidate?" I told him they were both egotistical troglodytes and the world would be a better place if both would succumb to some fatal malady so the country wouldn't have to suffer their idiocy for another day. And, every place on the ballot should always have a space to vote for "None of the Above". And if that line ever received 25% or greater of the vote, every candidate for that position would be disqualified from ever running for ANY public office, applying for any government job, whatsoever.

Good thing I didn't go crazy and put my loaded arsenal all around the house to protect us from the riots! I'd just be putting them all away now.
