why
how come loaded ammo - which contains live primers, and powder, and a bullet - can be left sitting on your porch, but just primers by themselves, with no powder or bullet, require someone to sign for delivery. major pain, and not immediately logical to me.
Re: why
It's not logical, just another day in business paradise....
Re: why
I dont know their reasons, but suspect because primers in bulk are considered more dangerous than loaded cartridges. Its not an issue of loaded cartridges contain primers, as they are individually loaded in cases. Primers in bulk, an impact or drop, as apparently happened with Federal primers in the past resulting in the package exploding, led to them being required to package them differently, which is why they come in huge boxes compared to other makes. Its common knowledge federal primers are more sensitive than most other makes. The carryover seems to include all primers as being considered more dangerous than loaded ammo.

i still laugh when i recall his delight in retelling this tale.
Re: why
Who cares how well it will hold an edge if you only plan on using it once or twice.

Re: why
the other annoying thing is that the signature required deliver was scheduled for today - between 10 and 2:30. So I sat at home that whole time. Nothing. Still hasn't come. Hopefully someone will be around tomorrow if/when they ever show up as it will be annoying to have to go down to the fedex hub as it's 45 minutes away. You'd think if the delivery requires a signature, they'd at least try to get the tracking correct. What a pain.
