Too offensive for another forum..

So I had this idea, and tried it on another forum (of rich “he-men” safari hunters who laugh in the face of danger, apparently).
A thread where you can post a pic of one of your favourite rifles (or handguns), your main Bible, and your favourite knife, in the one photo.

Well it was deemed offensive by some and the thread was deleted..

I feel the folks here ain’t as delicate about a book as those other folks, so go ahead, make my day, post yours up

Rifle: 1910 made Winchester Model 1892 in .25-20
Bible: Schuyler KJV in Mahogany Calfskin
Knife: largely made by a fellow on another forum, I helped a little. Hairy oak scales.

EG, this is a nice idea. Hard to figure what goes on on some other forums. This one is so sensible.
Having grown up with the Revised Standard Version, I have never put the KJV first on my list, but I do enjoy cross-referencing against Tyndale from time to time in reverence for a hero who was burned at the stake for giving the English-speaking world a New Testament they could read for themselves.

i trust the KJB, BUT for reading out loud i prefer the 1599 Geneva Bible, try it sometime with favorite passages, it sounds better to me, and it illustrates how fluid the sound of a language can be in that time span.

Notes about the Geneva >> the language has been updated to today's pronunciation. there was no actual 1599 publication date i read recently, it was a loophole to avoid getting burned at the stake --- and Geneva was used for about 200 years, and is the Bible the colonists brought to America.

The KJB is my scripture authority until Jesus gets back here. Hopefully real real soon.

As for KJV I’ve been listening to an audiobible whilst on the positrack at work and it’s NIV. Quite enjoying it so I’m thinking of getting an NIV to have a crack at now

it's a Redhawk 44 Mag 5-1/2 inch barrel. i shoot a 401Gr cast bullet from it [advertised as 405] Plus when I was hunting i had a cast 320 Gr load i shot from a SBH that was fine in the redhawk...
