Levergunners In Burnet, Texas!

Post by JimT »

I spent a good part of the day in Burnet meeting with Grizz and Nate Kiowa Jones! We had a great time visiting, catching up on what was going on in our lives, looking at gun stuff, feeding our faces and generally staying out of the waitresses way. The TrailBlazer Grille is one fine place to meet. The owner did not mind us bringing a gun out on the table to look at nor did he worry about us sitting there for hours. If you go through Burnet stop in and bless them with some business.

It was a real pleasure to meet Grizz in person and to connect with Steve Young again. It had been too long since I was out his way. Gonna have to correct that!

I should have called you Scott. It all came together kinda late. I knew Grizz was coming in sometime yesterday and when we finalized our meeting plans I called Steve. We need to set another date and doing it again.

Jim, Burnet is holy ground for me. Logan Vandeveer and my GG grandfather Champion Travis Traylor Sr. were partners in the first store, still standing at 313 South Main. Logan died Sept. 2, 1855, of yellow fever trying to drive cattle to Louisiana, not knowing that his partner, my GGGF, had been murdered two weeks before on a trip to San Saba.
Sorry to bore. I like this town.
