My daughter and I visited the corvette museum in kentucky years ago , about a month later a lot of it was swallowed in a sink hole, we recognized a few of the cars sticking out.

If you notice in the overhead view there is a line of dead grass in line with the sink hole. And as the hole sunk you can see water spraying upwards. Dollars to doughnuts that was a pipeline that broke and caused it.

We have a customer who had a sinkhole open along his driveway, on an uphill climb and we were almost afraid to go up to work on his house.

When I worked at the lumberyard we had one open up in the middle of the yard, one of the guys drove a forklift right along the edge of it. I hollered to move the brand new lift out of the way and the knucklehead was completely oblivious to the hole in the ground!

Around here it from the limestone dissolving from the acidic rain.

I saw a damp spot in the road on my daily commute a couple of years ago, despite there being no rain and hot weather.

I reported it to the highway department, and they didn't seem interested.

On about the fourth day the pavement collapsed and 'caught' a vehicle pretty well. Nobody hurt that I know of though.

I knew there was a problem though - water doesn't just appear out of nowhere in 80 degree weather with no rain and no nearby sprinkler...!
