Trigger is a little spongy but I think with some practice it's s shooter.Very simplistic rifle,great for youth.

Had it back out today 10 shots at 25 yards just under 2" with CCI SV . I did however detect what may be a tiny bulge which I found cleaning surface freckling off barrel .Actually felt it before seeing it. Can't see or feel it in bore .. For cheap boys rifle it's a shooter.

They're a great little rifle, IMO right there with a Win Mod67! I bought this one long time ago for $25, and only reason I did was it being like Hathcocks rifle. But this one when I got it looked like it'd spent most it life in bed of a well worked coal truck! But I cleaned it then, bolt and all, and man was I surprised! I've shot some beautiful groups with it even at 45yds! So in 2016 I refinished the wood because it was terrible. Laid the 2016 Ky Coin in, that was coincidence, just so happens I found out while I was refinishing it. Drilled two holes above it for two quick follow ups in squirrel woods. And shimmer the trigger with few layers of aluminum foil, that really helped it! Shot this target back in winter just out fooling around. I've found the Win 333 or 555 bulk the best ammo in it so far, that's fine by me, a hollowpoint rd good for squirrels!

I handled one yesterday at an old friend house, that's in I'd say 85-90% condition. It has killed plenty squirrels.

There's no doubt in my mind that if they had a modern short travel hammer spring and good trigger they'd shoot with the best of them!
