Question on values

I am thinking of selling my Marlin 336A DL, 32 Special, from the 1950 era. I have searched over Gunbroker and cannot find any real comps, there are plenty of 336A models but no 336A DL types recently sold.

So, the question, is there much price difference if any between the two?

A whole bunch of views, but no values -- and I have no values to add either.

If you're not in a rush, I'd suggest you find a shooter or gun shop that has the "Blue Book" of gun values and see what that says. Good luck.

The question is whether your 336 is an A or ADL for sure? Marlin often put barrels stamped "336 ADL" on 336A rifles, so it's caused much confusion for owners who saw the ADL but wondered why their rifle didn't have the ADL features. If it has the correct features of a 336 ADL I'd expect maybe 10% more over a 336A or 336ADL that doesn't have all the features.

If its a true 336A DL it will have the deluxe style burl XX walnut stocks, monte carlo, comb, and sling studs. Every one I have ever seen had gorgeous wood. The regular 336A had regular run-of-the-mill walnut.

Well, the plot thickens.

There are two models of the ADL. First Model from 1948-1956 had the checkered stock and forend, along with sling swivels. Second Model 1957-1963 had the Monte Carlo stock with raised cheekpiece and sling swivels. Wood was supplied by Bishop. Second Model is worth 20% more than the First Model. .32 Special has a 20% premium.

Mine has all the features of a First Model ADL, being made in 1951. Curiously, the barrel in not marked ADL, just A. Go figure.
