Had three inches in the gauge this morning. Woke me up a couple of times. We are far from through. This ought to fill some tanks!

Re: Damp night on the Rolling Plains of Texas
We received a lot of rain Sunday night and through the day yesterday. At one point it was coming down in large amounts so much it was like a roaring ... I thought it was a low-flying jet at first. It's all welcome!

Day turned out sunny and warm yesterday, but the storm systems returned and let loose about 5:30 this morning with another 1.25 inches by 8 a.m. So we have had 4.25 inches in less than 48 hours. More is on the way.

Re: Damp night on the Rolling Plains of Texas
east of Dallas we got a few sprinkles while I was at the range, not even enough to dampen the targets. Roads were wet on the way back, but our dirt road showed nary a drop and the little farm is dry as a bone. Need a little if I'm to mow at least once more before the grass goes dormant.
