I don't have one Oldebear, but I would bet my lunch money that it would be mostly favorable. I have read a lot of good comments on the
net about the new CBC made Rossi's. I hope you get to find out.

The local Farm store has a bunch of New Rossi 92's, but none in .454.......44mag,.357,&.45colt. I looked at the .45 Colt and they are much improved, well finished and pretty darn smooth to work the lever. stainless are $749.00 and blued are $729.00. they currently have $75.00 off. If I didn't already have older Rossi's in .357 and 44-40 I'd buy a new one. Good Luck with the search. :D .

There are reviews of the m92s in .454 by both Hickok45 and Target Suite on You Tube. Neither of those guys pull any punches when they do reviews. Good luck!

I traded for a new Rossi 38/357 mag and I am really happy with that trade. The one I have has the 16 inch barrel, and I also have a Ruger Security Six revolver.
I would like to have a 454 to go with my Uberti 45 colt, EL PATRON revolver. I want the 454 because the mag tube is screwed into the receiver, and is not prone to backing out of the receiver over time.

I did text Rossi and told them they should consider doing that to all their lever carbines and rifles.
I also sent them a text about the new 454 has a mag tube that works like the Henry rifles. and screws in and out for loading and unloading. I believe they should also do that with all their lever guns

I wonder if the newer CBC manufactured rifles have mag tubes threaded into receiver?
For the 357's and 44's I mean.
First I heard of this issue.

This is a common problem?

almost bought one of these stainless CBC guns,

Glad I didn't as a searched this up and am not sure if the mag tube working loose during firing has been remedied in the calibers other than 454

That would be a big disappointment to find a mag tube loose

So far have had no problem with my 38/357 . I have had mine over a year now with no problem. Most of the guys I have chatted on here do not seem to have a problem with the 38/357 doing that

I was able to trade for a new 454 Rossi R 92 stainless with 20 inch barrel and so far am really happy with the one I have.

It seems Rossi makes two models of this gun. The one I got was made for cowboy action shooting and does not have the loading thru the mag tube that some of the other ones have.
I was hoping it would but oh well, that was the only one I could get at the time.

.
It was my understanding that the Rossi rifles in the 'normal' chamberings didn't have any magazine-tube issues, any more than their WInchester parent, or their Marlin cousins, but that the extra recoil of the high-pressure 454 Casull rounds created an issue, remedied by threading the magazine tube.

It also could be that the magazine tubes with the tube-loading feature have enough more mass, and thus inertia, that they would be more prone to pulling away from the receiver during heavy recoil. I only have one Rossi tube-loading model that isn't a 454 Casull, and although I've not shot unusually stout loads in it, it has shot plenty of 44 Mag 300 grain loads without issues.

It is my understanding that all the new 454s have the screw in mag tubes.

The one I have does have the loading gate, but not the tube loading and unloading. So far, all I have shot have been 45 colt loads, and while I have read that some have issues with 45 colt loads, I have not.
But then I have only shot about a half a box thru the gun. But it was new when I got it, and maybe Rossi figured out what the problem was and fixed it.

I do reload, and have fired both my reloads and factory loads but all in 45 colt, and not 454 loads, but I also keep my reloads to factory length .
