Marlin 1894 Trigger Question??

How difficult is it to put a Wild West trigger in a Marlin 1894(44 magnum)?? I am not very mechanical, but I have a friend who could help me. Are their triggers worth what they sell them for?? Any other suggestions?? Thanks, Tom.

I think the triggers are worth the cost, but you will have to justify the cost to yourself. I hear that a good gunsmith can do a trigger job for about $50, much less than the cost of the Happy trigger, but I think all of the good gunsmiths have left Southern California. So the cost of the replacement pretty much offsets my having to drive a couple of hundred miles for a gun mechanic, and it only takes about 10 minutes to swap out a trigger.

Check www.midwayusa.com for them. It's as good a place as any I think.

It might take 20 minutes your first time.
Really, it is worth the $ for those of us without a good gunsmith locally.
I've done 2 so far.

It's really a question of how steady you can hold while pressing a tough trigger.
I know some guys can shoot very well with a heavy trigger. I have arthrytis in my hands
and really start to shake if I have to use too much force. So the Happy Trigger makes
a big difference for me, at least when I am shooting paper.
I guess most people are in the middle somewhere.

I put one in my CAS rifle in about 10 minutes. It took another 10 minutes to open it back up and tweak the finger lever safety spring (as it effects trigger pull) to get a little more pull (I finished at about 2.5 lbs). It's crisp as a S&W revolver and no more trigger bite. The CONSISTENCY is a lot better, so your paper punching will improve.

The very first thing I did was call Wild West, thank them for making their product, and become a dealer. cowboy45special.com (I sell em cheap, and sell lots of em). UNFORTUNATELY, I'm sold out, and they are gonna be about 30 days getting me another batch. Backorders accepted.
