Post by 450ak »

I just bought a browning 71 carbine converted to 416/348 imp. anybody fool with this?? seems like it does a little more than my 405 1895 in a handier rifle.

I'm not educated about this wildcat. But I'd like to know case capacity. Seems like powders for 444 Marlin would be good choices. Interestingly, 444 fires .429 or .430 bullets. That makes it a 43 caliber. 416 is a 41 1/2 caliber. There is only 1 1/2 caliber difference between the two.

the 35/348 imp i have is about the same capacity as the 338 win magninny as is my 450ak. i will shoot the 350 grain rcbs gas check and my 410 grain gas check(maybe if it fits) and be happy. kind of a dilemma which rifle to take some days, although the 450 seems to go the most. this 416 is lighter...................... and the hills are steeper each year and the bears get snootier cause no one whacks them.
