7 hours later....
....I got me a rabbit!
Got a squirrel too. It was hard work finding rabbits today. I only saw a few and had to wait around for darkness to fall.
Once darkness was starting I found a couple and moved in very very slowly. Once the silhouette looked to be under 30yds I took aim and followed through. Rabbit down.
Thank goodness for that!

What are the details on the flintlock? Looks very classy.

Thanks everyone.
The gun is nothin fancy.
A Pedersoli Indian trade gun.
I call it the faux trade gun due to it not being truly an accurate copy of the trade gun.
When I first got it had a lousy lock. Unreliable and slow. It took me a while to fix it. Now it is very reliable and fast.

I don't think that squirrel or the rabbit are complaining about not having been shot with enough gun. Looks like you are much more patient than I am.

Re: 7 hours later....
Talking of enough gun. I dropped the charge to a tiny 50gns and dropped 1&1/6oz on it and was surprised by the power and nice pattern so went and got the rabbit on said charge.
Quite impressed. It also means I've been wasting powder!

Re: 7 hours later....
I'd give anything to waste powder on a rabbit I ain't seen one here to shoot at for years but they might be making a come back if the Buzzards and Badgers don't get them first. Nice shooting Nath.....
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.
Re: 7 hours later....
Nath, you sir are dedicated and I do like your flintlock. With the price of primers being what they are, I may be forced to start using mine.
Re: 7 hours later....
Well there is that.
I have some flint nodes outside and a jar in the gun room full of smashed flint I hahem chipped away at. They look like nothing you would buy but they sure spark better than any I bought!
Thank you
