This is a Winchester 1894 (Illinois Sesquicentennial Edition) chambered in 30-30. I was given this rifle for free. It was originally black with gold plating. The upgrades:
-Complete disassembly and sandblast.
-All parts were coated in either Cerakote Elite Blackout or ArmorLube (except firing pin).
-Firing pin coated in Titanium Nitride
-Skinner Dovetail peep sight (rear)
-Skinner Patridge single screw sight (front)
-Stock and forend refinished to black
-Sling swivel stud added to stock and rear barrel band
-Savvy Sniper sling
-Burris Fast Fire 4
-Turnbull Restoration red dot mount
The walnut forend and stock were stripped and sanded. I used Speedball India Ink to stain and then several coats of water based polyurethane.

Any idea if their mount for the 1892 would fit on a Rossi 92? And did you need to have it tapped or did it use existing screw hole?

I know the original poster has not been back, but the post inspired me to order one of those Turnbull mounts this morning. I think one of those red dots should make my 94 even faster.

Welcome to the fire. The 94 commemoratives make some good shooters.
I mounted the barrel version of the Turnbull mount on my dad's old 94 Trapper in 32WS a few years ago. He was starting to have trouble with the old Lyman 66.
I mounted a Burris FF3 and it zeroed easily. We played with the carbine through early fall to make sure it would hold zero.
That fall, dad popped a 140lb doe moving through thick beeches from a treestand on a ridge. It was also just a few minutes before the end of legal shooting. Dad was 78 at the time. He will be 81 this season and is still using his little Trapper. We have never had a problem with this setup holding zero.

Old Jed & Old Win both got it right! Mod 94 from every year and in all configurations, has done the job like no others! My 1971 Commemorative is my favorite rifle!
