Yellowstone Kelly
If you enjoy early frontier and hunting with Leverguns , I think you will really enjoy this book . I know I did . It is near amazing what he was able to do with his little 1860 Henry Carbine 44 Rimfire . ,,,,DT

It was a very good book and hard to put down . The day to day life of a frontiersman scout and hunter .

In addition to being 'Cheyenne' on t.v., Clint Walker was 'Yellowstone Kelly' in a movie of the same name, from around 1959 or '60.

Overlooks the industrial district & refineries. Power lines, cell tower, etc.
Not sure it's what the old plainsman would have felt comfortable around.
Just my opinion of course.

I really enjoyed this book, pretty neat that I live and work near some of the places in the book.

Dusty Texian, are you referring to the bear dog? I wonder how far away he was from the cavalcade. I wonder if maybe it was a big brown Newfoundland.
