So I’ve been bitten my the lever-bug….
I installed a Skinner Peep to use as a ghost ring for close work, but I’d really like to add a tang sight for the deer woods.
I have 16” round barrel, 92 in .45Colt.
What tang aight should I get AND will I need to drill/tap for a front screw?
Thanks all!

Welcome to Leverguns Forum.
I only have a few rifles tang-sighted, and happened to get four 'generic' tang sights 'made' by Taurus (sold under their name anyway). They seemed sturdy and well-made, and looked and functioned like the Marbles brand ones (could even have been made by Marbles for all I know but I'll bet not because they were half the price), so I'd recommend Marbles from my own very limited experience.
Some tang sights require you to do your windage sighting-in by drifting or adjusting the front sight, although you can get around that with careful shimming under the tang sight to tilt it just right.
Not a big deal really, as usually I don't change windage, because I'm just not THAT good a shot to where subtle load changes in a rifle affect anything but elevation that I can detect, and darned sure don't have to take the Coriolis effect into account at the ranges I shoot. Lacking windage adjustment on the tang sight keeps it more compact, so that's a plus for those designs (mostly the Lyman ones I think?).
Some folks who know way more will chime in soon.
If you do modify your front sight you can just re-sight-in with your other rear sight if you want to use both. Lots of folks have two different sights set for two different ranges; an aperture or open notch for close fast shots and the tang for slower paced long range shots. Saw a guy at the Friendship Muzzleloading shoot 20 years ago with a Marbles Bullseye on the barrel and a Marbles Tang on the tang. Funny to look through the tang sight, as the Bullseye sight doesn't fold down, but he hit everything he shot at quite well.

I have several tang sights on levers and single shot rifles... a mix of Lyman, Marbles and Smith Enterprises. I like the Smith best, but am equally satisfied by the Lyman and Marbles. Yes, you will need to drill and tap for a front screw if you want to keep any repeatability in your sighting. The Lyman does not adjust for windage except by shimming, and the Marbles have click adjustments for ease of return to a former setting. The Lyman is sturdier in my opinion, almost as well as the Smith Enterprise sight I have.
