I'm a transplant, and plan on staying. That song and video pretty much says it all. Now that 86er is here, we have to convert him, too. That shouldn't be too hard as he already seems to like Texas.

My wife and I watched it and were both shocked at how many of the places mentioned we had been too. You don't realize how much you travel until you see a video like that.

Thanks again, crs. Looks like pages out of the family photo album, except we did it in the '50s and '60's. We didn't have the money for Disneyland so the folks rode us around and taught us Texas history. Only right since my great grandparents crossed the Red River to settle here during the tailend of Reconstruction.

From this, Texans have been a little different right from the start---

"If we succeed, the country is ours. It is immense in extent, and fertile in it's soil and will amply reward our toil. If we fail, death in the cause of liberty and humanity is not cause for shuddering. Our rifles are by our side, and choice guns they are, we know what awaits us, and we are prepared to meet it."

Daniel Cloud in route to the Alamo on December 26, 1835

crs, thanks again from the Cradle of Texas Liberty, BH44

Took me several days to get around to watching that one, but I'm glad that I finally did.

Excellent!

Thanks, CRS!

I recognized a number of those towns and photos. Texas is nice but the heat and humidity kills me.

Currently in Iraq (they love us MPs , not my first rodeo, I'm sure not my last, lol), Texas born and bred, great video, ready to get back to the farm in Texas, I will take Texas over any place on the planet, seen a lot of it, you have no idea what you have until you have been in someones back yard. I have yet to find a back yard in my over 20 years in the Army that even comes close to the U.S. , let alone Texas. I just happen to be lucky enough to be born as an American, something I will never ever be able to make some understand just how much of a blessing that is.
