I just saw those advertised yesterday. Although I'd never paid any attention the the Wranglers, I thought that one of these might make a nice Christmas present for one of the kids.

I don't know Jim.

My problem is that I am pretty much wedded to a J frame for everyday carry. I have a Single Six Bisley that John cut down for me and tuned up a bit. I don't know that I'll ever wear it out. Just wish I had him do it to one of the fixed sight guns instead.

But since I started this experiment, I am thinking about selling all of my J frames but one.

I can understand that ... but a guy always needs good .22's ... you can't have too many of those. However I am not sure I want Wrangler, though they seem to work OK. Sorta like a Glock. Nothing soul-stirring about them but they do work. My personal philosophy:

And they are being offered in various finishes and grip materials .. And that may be a Magnum cylinder ...

I shot a little Beatcat for some time. Great little gun but I never could shoot it well. The grip was very small and the action was not conducive. I know that it isn’t the guns fault as some people shoot them very well.

There's quite a few on gunbroker. It's a Talo edition, and ! don't know how many retailers carry them. I'm probably going to buy one after Christmas and after we see how the Wrangler I just bought for Kid #1 shoots.

The birdshead model in Nickel definitely got my attention. I already have a full size 1873 in .22 LR/.22 MAG Combo. Just my opinion, but I think the .22 LR actually does better out of mine. I swear I can see the .22 MAG in flight. I have to wonder if the short barrel can digest the extra powder the .22 MAG requires. If someone has a Chrony, I would love to see actual velocities on this.

I have a few .22 pistols and revolvers.

In fact I have an old drift rear sight Old Model Ruger Single Six with a matching Lawrence holster that I haven't fired yet.

But my favorite (though not my best shooter) is a Ruger MK II ultra light that is so handy that I cannot leave it behind on a woods trip.
