the giving season?

here is something that is worth supporting. it is my favorite foreign mission because it is focused and it works. it provides God's Word in audio format, because the majority of people are oral learners, and very many are illiterate. this program has been used so long in so many places that there are known outcomes.

it is truly an investment of Love into the kindreds, nations, tongues, and tribes.

thanks for your consideration. And

Merry Christ-mas

The spoken word is an amazing thing.
We use solar powered "taking" Bibles in Mozambique. In the local dialects, they were invaluable.
Good project Grizz!

Thanks Jim. It's nearly miraculous to be able to help tend Christ's little lambs from so far away for so little money. It honestly boggles my mind. In a good way. :)

A friend of mine visited one of the more remote coastal islands that had a small village on it. She spent several days there with her team, and then had to return to Pemba. The village is rarely visited by any outsiders and they were sad to see her go. She promised to return and left them a solar Bible that had only the Book of Mark in their native language on it.

These people had never heard the Gospel, but they were excited by the gift. They have no technology and little contact other than word of mouth.

My friend was not able to return for more than 3 months. When she returned with her team they were greeted with much enthusiasm and excitement. That evening around the communal fire, nearly the entire village recited the Book of Mark to her. For 3 months every night they listened to the Book of Mark. They charged the Bible with the sun every day and listened to it every night. Almost everyone in the village could recite it.

The Bibles were searchable by book, chapter and verse, though the one left with the village had only one book.

it was a big wakeup for me Scott, when I started reading the stories, just like the one Jim posted, of the actual results of just making the technology available. people going back in and finding a village full of believers. for less than i spend on coffee every day i can reach hundreds of people with the Good News of the Savior. the Gospel truly is "the power of God unto Salvation".

found a short video showing how the proclaimer reaches oral learners with the gospel. It's worth a couple of minutes to hear how miracles work "over there". press the go button at the top of the screen when the browser opens.

if you watched that short video, and want more, here is a 28min video of the man who founded "faith comes by hearing", and what he's done. rather what Jesus has done through him.

it would be great to hear back if this ministers to anybody...
