On the road

Post by JReed »

Well we pulled out of the inlaws this morning @ 7am and started the drive back east. Today we made the 758 mile drive to Albuquerque, NM. Tomorrow we will get on the road about 8:00 and head to Tulsa, Ok. for the night then head up to my folks in St Louis, Mo. for the 4th of july weekend. :D We were amazed how much cheaper gas is out side of Ca. talk about a welcome change gas here in New Mexico is on average .50cents a gallon cheaper then in California hopefully it good prices hold out for us n the rest of the trip.

Well its late and I got to hit the rack. Y'all have fun here in lever land. :)

J, thanks for the update. I know what you mean about gas prices compared to Commiefornia from my trip to Kansas last summer. Much cheaper indeed! Still very sorry to see you go, but its just another adventure to add to your life's experiences, so enjoy it while you can!

God Bless you Buddy, and safe travels!

"lever land" - I love it!

Travel safe. Almost 800 miles in one day is a good stretch with kids in the car. Lot easier today than when we were young - all kinds of gizmos to keep them occupied. Still, that's a good haul. Does the government mandate certain miles per day or hours on the road during a move?

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July. Remember, this is the 2nd heaviest traveled weekend in America, (Labor day being the highest), from personal experience, those are the numbers with the highest percentage of 1D10Ts on highway also. Glad you made the long push the 1st day out, drop back a bit from there on out, especially over the weekend, that when all the folks RUSH to get where they're going.

Keep us up to date and if you like AZ & NM gas prices, you'll love IN's! These guys ain't the cheapest in town but they have a good nationwide website, updated daily for comparative purposes: Pilot Travel Centers.

Mokwaw I am going to Ft Wayne South.
We will head out of Mo in the morning for the drive out there to start looking for a place to live. 4th of July was nice as the Californians know fireworks are illeagle in most of southern Ca so it was cool to go out and buy a bunch of fireworks and have our own show :D . Hopefully the hotel we stay at tomorrow has wifi so I can check back.
