Well its time to say good by to CA again. The movers will be here in the morning to start boxing up all our junk. The only thing they wont take is my powder and loaded ammo (good thing I shot most of it up). Went through the guns yesterday and gave them a good cleanning since they will be in strorage while we house hunt ( yeah us). Also had to dump all the fluids out of my bike they wont take it wet small price to pay to not have to ride it cross country. We will be heading down the road next Monday bright and early that will put us into St. Louis MO on Wed. Spend the 4th with my folks then head out to Ft Wayne In.
I love moving

The cool thing about this move is that I get to pick up 3 more rifles from my folks that my dad has been holding on to for me. A Winchester .22 pump, Mil Remington roller in 45-70, and a Stevens 200 in .223rem. Anything that gets you more guns is a goodthing right?

Best wishes. I'd guess there might be some things here that you won't miss.
And more guns sounds good.

Pretty much it is in my book!
I know you like CA, but I think you'll find living in IN is a heck of a lot cheaper, and they have 1/100th of the idiotic rights-restricting laws of CA. You'll be a lot closer to your Dad to boot.
Silver-lining... silver-lining!
Good luck with the move - never fun, but at least they are doing it for you!
I well remember those days. We moved 14 times in 23 years in the Air Force. Never regretted it. My wife could take the house apart in a few days and put it back togeather again at the other end in the same time.
If you are heading to Ft Wayne you will only be an hour south of me. Get in touch when you can.

Yep we average a move every 2.5 years every time I find stuff I didnt know I had.

I have a Stevens 200 in .223, we can compare notes after you have it a while.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Hey Paul tell your son that if he makes a life of it he can expect the same.
Well day one of packing went well they got the kitchen an dinning room boxed up and the master bedroom and laundry room. Tomorrow will be the big day for boxing I figure it will take one guy most of the day to get the garage packed up. Glad I'm not doing it.
OS y'all need to keep the annual get together going cause I'll be back out here in 3 years and I'll be itching to back up with you all.

Well, it's not like he's not used to it. At one time I figured out that I'd had a major change of address about 35 times in 30 years. Haven't figured it out since then, but we're trying to bring the average down. The poor kid's probably moved around more than some (most) military kids. We'll see how it goes - he WAS thinking career - time will tell...
