Many many years ago either outdoor life of field & stream had an article titled
The VIII Day
The article went to explain how on the 8th day he took a glob of mud and formed it into the Labrador. At the end of it one of the Angles asked if he could have one as well.
Labs are quite amazing. I like most dogs, but some breeds are just better than others.

my first dog was a chocolate lab and my daughters dog is a chocolate lab. one of the sweetest breeds you can own, We currently have a rat terrier named Daisy May, she a pussycat, loves all people and scared of the dark, and eats like a horse though. we got her from the pound ( we don't buy puppy mill dogs) she was a starving stray. daisy and my daughter's dog (dixie darla bell) are best friends and love each other.

Got 1 Irish Terrier/Rat Terrier cross that is almost 50 pounds and still growing. His 2 sisters together are almost equal to his weight.

I don't plan on getting any more Irish Terriers. They are sneaky and stubborn, and they run away. Ours, Aoife, loves to run away and get lost. Our Rat Terrier likes to explore and then come home. The Animal Control Officer has tried several times and cannot catch him. Those 2 dogs had puppies, and we still have their 3 puppies.

Yep! if I chase my rat terrier . it stays just out of arms reach. But, if you hold her collar near the floor and call her name and be a bit patient, she will come and put her head into the collar for you. They are skittish critters.
