And just as a reminder, even though you do not need it ... Let he know every day how much you appreciate her.

This would have been our 48th.
I wish I would have told her that more often.
I miss her every day.

Congratulations. Not many make it that far anymore. Picking the right one the first time, and being willing to put in some effort to keep the other one happy is obviously a big part of it.

Closing in on 280 [dog-]years here. That's 40 human ones.

Gets better every year. Maybe we're just lucky, or easy to get along with (we are both so stubborn we NEVER try to make each other change our ways - no point wasting the energy).

When I've been away any length of time, I'll say "Did you miss me...?"
and she'll say.... "Yeah, I think the scope mount is loose or something..."
