44 Mag with 1:20 twist barrel.

Is this a wish list?

The two most excellent .307 and .356 Win.s should be but won't... :(

I'm very surprised to see the 41 mag in the lead, and by such a large margin.

+1 it would be interesting to see if the action without Winnie 94 BB mods could take the round 8) !

I voted for the 308 Marlin Express. I don't consider the handgun calibers a viable improvement or benefit over the 30-30. The 444 is a good caliber, but a shorter ranged one. And I consider the 410 shot gun as a total waste of materials, so being a fan of the 30 cal I voted for the 308.

I would think for market reasons offering a caliber not available from Marlin would give them a market niche. Offering the same calibers as Marlin seems to be a tougher road to go. Unless there is availablility with getting Marlins I don't see them captureing alot of the market. The 30-30 is fine because that is a big piece of the levergun pie. But for another offering they should go a different direction than Marlin.

I voted 308MX.

How come the put the barrel bands on backwards. The screws belong on the right side for crying out loud.

As popular as the 44 Mag is, I'd bet that a proper 1:20 twist barrel (and really advertise that!) model would really sell.

I'd buy one for sure- the 1:38 twist barrels in all of the current ones is the only reason I don't own one.

well, with a gun like that, ya hafta do 30-30. Ya gotta start with it, and they did.
Question is, how do you start grabbing Marlin's market?
The gun seems too solid and overbuilt to be well suited to .357magnum. That chambering probably should wait till they have more of the market claimed. That being said, they need to find what Marlin ain't doing well, or at all, and do that. Also, chamberings that people will have a use and want for. I think of the .308 as a super-amped 30-30, and an improvement in the lever action deer rifle concept, and they should chamber for it to grab the deer hunters who don't yet know anything about all those cool levergun chamberings we talk about here.
Also, .44mag is quite popular, commonly known, and works as single-chambering combinations. That would give them a pistol round that isn't too "special market".
If they asked me, I'd tell 'em to do it on a system much like Freightliner builds trucks. You tell 'em what you want for options, they give that options package to the factory, factory builds it. You get exactly the truck you need without paying for stuff you don't.
They oughta do guns that way too.
As for what Marlin ain't doing, we could use a few cowboy chamberings that are being ignored. 38-55? 38-40? 32-40? Good hunting loads, those, and also good for the cowboy games.

But what do I know about selling guns? I just know what I like.

I am confused by all the 41 mag fans wanting a Mossberg. I could have never guessed it. I would buy one in 25-35 or maybe 38-55.

Do like I did, and suggest a few calibers they have forgotten to mention. I would like a .45-70, .454, .475 linebaugh, .500 S&W.

How about a 218 Bee?
I really enjoy my 22 hornet in the Ruger 77/22 and think a scoped 218 bee would be a good roaming woodchuck rifle.

I voted .410

Given what Marlin & Win .410 go for, they could do limited runs every year and make bank.

Actually, it would make even better sense for them because really the only difference between a .410 and the .444 is rifling and reaming.
