Thirty years ago !
I had a rather nice Parker VH 16 gauge with a straight english stock and 30” F&F barrels . I traded it off in one of my less than bright moments . Well it looks like today I found a replacement. I already have a VH 16 on an 0 frame that’s factory 26” IC/M , a VH 16 on a 1 frame factory 28” M/F and a GH 16 on a 1 frame that’s been trimmed to 27” and is lite IC/IC . This 30” gun’s on a 1 frame , looks like all it needs is a new recoil pad ! Obviously I found it on GI as the pics are so marked .

I hope I can have in hand in a week and if it passes muster take it to the club or sporting course . If I can shoot it well enough to suit me and I’m able to get a spot in the Christmas Hill Pheasent thing next month I might just shoot this gun .

Looks like a nice honest gun without neglect but maintained by the slight oil staining of the stock. Good score!

I’d like to think the gun will be here Friday but Monday is probably more correct ! Think Thursday I’ll do Sporting at Central Virginia with my VH 16 28” and if this new one arrives early next week I might try it next Thursday with a slip on pad . The gun with the skinny pad is a skoosh over 13” so I figure I’ll add a KickEeez 1” or 1 1/4” pad . Might need to add a 1/4” black spacer under the pad as well .

Gun finally showed up today . Was actually better than I expected . Of course the LOP needs to be addressed but that’s nothing an inch thick pad and a 1/4” spacer can’t overcome

I was in my loading room trying to get everything straightened out once more and found a new Pachmayer slip on recoil boot . So I put it on this Parker 16 LOP was about 14 1/4” but wearing a t-shirt it was pretty good
