Found this track in the driveway, four toes and rear pad.
Either a wolf a Cougar i suspect.
I should add it was -20 this morn and that track showed up yesterday so there was no melting to make it bigger.

I`m hearing ya, Norma goes armed to the mail box from here on out.
We will be sitting at the mill around a fire Christmas day, that sucker shows up and i`ll give him a 405 grain present, only if he attacks me of coarse.
Yep the Dems are torquing off many people, bad bad bad, not happy happy happy.

Been at work all day. That track is some type of canine for sure. I would go armed when outdoors from now on. I have a couple of .357s, and one of them or my Glock model 22 in .40 S&W would go would be my constant companion. I have a RIA 10mm, and it could come along even though it is not light. A pistol might be easier to carry all the time than a rifle would be. That said, a .405 grain bullet from .45-70 sure does change the behavior of whatever it hits.

Certainly looks like the wolf tracks I see around here, size wise---I'm certain it's a canine. Keep your dogs close if you have one, the wolves around here (Wyoming, Idaho, Montana) kill every dog they run onto---even the hounds folks run lions (cougars) with. Most are pretty gun shy around here now that we can hunt them---a shot will generally turn them away from a dog. I see two wolf pups were run over in Yellowstone recently---they (feds) blamed it on habituation to traffic....

Yeah Lenn, looks like wolf to me too. The cougars and bobcats around here leave a very round track. 44 Special should work OK if you load 'em sorta hot. I bought a 7 1/2 inch Colt in 44 special the other day. New in the box. Haven't shot it yet but I did set out a box of ammo for it. Picked up a 7 1/2 inch 45 too. It's an NRA Centennial but not much glitter except some gold script on the barrel and NRA grip medallions. Blue/CC and the presentation grips are decent looking walnut. I'll take some pics when I shoot 'em.
