Dumb question - does .32-20 take .32 or .30 gas checks?

Post by cubrock »

I recently got a .32-20 mold and was wondering what size gas checks to get. It seems that .32-20 bullet diameter sits smack in the middle of these two nominal bore sizes.

Thanks in advance!

Use .30 caliber gas checks. I size my .32-20's at .311.

Thanks! That is what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure.

My Model 1892 slugs at .314". You may want to slug your barrel and, if it is larger, order a Lee sizing kit (cheap like Borscht) to get the size you want. However, I do not know what the max capabilities of the 30 call GC are.

I use the .30 gas checks on my .312" bullets.
