Yes, he survived.

There just happened to be a big dent from the impact with the other car and that's where the car slid over him.

"...Investigators said that at the time of the accident the crosswalk signal was red, and therefore Tegtmeyer should not have been crossing the street. They also reported that Tegtmeyer miraculously escaped alive because the dent in the side of the Subaru caused by the crash created a hollow space that allowed the vehicle to roll over him without crushing him to death..."

God was surely watching out for that fellow right then!

I got tagged a few years back walking in a cross walk parallel to the strip in Las Vegas (between the Monte Carlo and NY-NY hotels). Was there for a trade show. I was walking by myself, heading south, and was about 15 feet behind a large group of tourists. A taxi cab - a Dodge Durango - that had stopped at the intersection decided it wanted to try to beat traffic on the strip. He hit the gas just as the group in front of me stepped onto the sidewalk from the street - pretty much when I was dead in front of him. I leapt for the curb, having heard the engine rev and seeing the movement out of peripheral vision. Got lucky – he didn’t have much of a running start, and by leaping I was high enough to go up on the hood versus under the vehicle. He hit me, rolled me up on the hood and against the windshield. Apparently the vision of me lounging against his windshield was rather distressing because he slammed on the brakes and promptly tossed me back off this hood – and about 15 feet into the middle of LV Boulevard! Fortunately, there was no traffic yet – but it was coming. I got up quickly – dazed but with enough since to get back to the curb.
It’s not like the movies or TV folks – it hurts! Again, God was watching over me as I didn’t break anything, just got bruised and battered and sprained my ankle. Ribbed up my brand new sports coat too!

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

I saw this same email floating around and it reported the victim had died, which leads me to conclude I shouldn't trust anything off the internet - unless I yam dere and see it wit' me own eyes.

How do you pronounce G_d. Presumably GOD. So why not write it as is pronounced and spelled, or is there an obscure prohibition on this? It would seem that it is not a Christian prohibition as every Bible I have seen uses God throughout.

Merely a quest for knowledge :?

Review your post and consider that there is a polite way to preface and construct a question.

Mr Weidner,

I have reviewed my post and accept that while my question was not intended to give offence, it was clumsily and bluntly constructed.

I regret having acted impolitely and hope that you will accept my apology in the spirit in which it is given.

I have seen the use of G_d on a few occasions but do not understand this practice.

I wonder if you may care to explain why you write God in that way?

Gladly.

I write G_d in this manner as a matter of respect. I believe that it's originally a Jewish custom, but in thinking on the subject I found the symbolism to have a personal significance, and adopted the practice.
