Mel Tappan's book was virtually a Holy Scripture for the kids I grew up with.

But then that was back when Mini-14's were futuristic, and Glocks had yet to be invented....

I enjoy reading books like that even though I can't get my hands on a lot of the recommended firearms, I do not expect to find myself in many survival situations by it's fun to theorise on what you think you might need.
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

I remember Mel had a survival retreat in the mountains of the US and one in Mexico I think it was. He prepared for everything ... almost. I hope he was prepared to die unexpectedly. Seems like we often prepare for everything but that. :o
