Yeah I got that part; I love that movie. I've just never heard of Bob Barr before.

Bobb Barr is/was a Senator from Georgia who left the (R) party because they have almost all become RINOS, and is now running as the putitive (L) nominee. (You kill my party, prepare to die)

Barr is now an (L), though a lot of (L)s think he's more (R) than (R) Paul is...

Barr DOES have good "street cred" in genuine Conservative circles though, and a Barr/Paul ticket would, IMO have a better chance of winning than a McChurian/Paul ticket.

I'd still rather have Paul as POTUS though.

Accurate except that Barr was never a Senator. He was a representative. When his district got realigned, he ended up in a primary fight against another popular Republican and lost.

Barr has extremely solid conservative credentials, and I think the Libertarians will jump at the chance to run a "known name" on the ticket. If that is the case, it will almost certainly make Mr. Obama the next president.

No, if McCain put Barr on the bottom of his ticket, it would do a lot to repair his ties with conservatives, and might unite the GOP and Libertarians in this election. In which case, given McCain's appeal to moderate/independent/undecided weenies, would probably spell doom for Mr. Obama...

Real (R)'s?

They're "mostly dead"...

:!:
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Any (L) has no chance of winning more that a single digit percent of votes. No matter how much you agree with them. They have some good points, they just will never be elected.

So is it a waste of time to mess with them?

Sad commentary on the lack of education and general condition of the American body Politic. ALmost as bad as Religion.

Is it any wonder that the Founders spoke often about the hazards of Parties?

Mostly dead??? That must be why when you press on their sternum they will
say "To blave" which we all know means to deceive.
