Re: On Creating Stonehenge
That may be how ancient man built Stonehenge -- but aliens taught 'em the technique!

How about that! I do believe he showed us how it was done.

Re: On Creating Stonehenge
Work smarter, not harder! Myself and my coworker used to move 5,000 pound generators inside buildings from the back of a tandem axle trailer. Not a tough job in the city, with equipment, but these were on mountain tops in remote power switching signal sites. We did it all using block and tackle, and pipe rollers. Built up platforms with beams for ramps and screwed 3/4" Kindorf channel to the beams to make things roll easier.
The old generators we removed could roll out so fast we had to eliminate the pipe rollers once they hit the ramps, or we'd get run over by them. Instead we simply sprayed the Kindorf strut with WD40, and it slid slowly out with the block and tackle to hold them back.
We had a lot of fun doing these generator installs, and saved the company tens of thousands over the original plan of helicoptering them to the site, and getting a crane up remote fire roads to do the install.

Vall, I sure hope you got a fair share of that "tens of thousands" in dollars, ILO some "atta-boy's".........

Re: On Creating Stonehenge
Attaboys only last until the first time something goes wrong. Then they forget everything you do for them! We never were privy to what those jobs were bid for, but years after they were all done I was told they were the most profitable jobs the company ever did!
We were treated well, and given an expense account for room and board. But no sign of any profit sharing. Just a "thanks" and see you later! But we did get to see some gorgeous scenery all over Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana! Plus got in some great fishing after work in the evenings, and weekends!

It just goes to prove that too many scientists are over thinking it.
