OT-Serial Number on Marlin Number 29 pump 22?

Post by rangerider7 »

I traded for this little rifle today and I can't find the serial number. It is a Marlin number 29 pump 22. They were made from 1913 to 1916 I believe. Help!

I don't think guns required serial numbers until 1968.

I have a semi-auto .22 Marlin that doesn't have a number on it anywhere. I don't think they thought some models important enough to record.

Hanz, I just read that they did not have serial numbers. Your right on target. Thanks!

Yep, no serial number required back in the days when we were all much freer!

Pictures?

Serial number is on side of upper tang. Take off butt stock and you will find it there. FWIW, moodyholler
