Thanks Jerry. For the rest of youse uninformed deplorables, wife and I went to a RV show last weekend, ended up with a 39'8" fifth wheel toy hauler with all the bells and whistles. Figure after a few shakedown cruises this summer oughta be headin points South next fall. Maybe Yuma, maybe Port Aransas, don't know yet. Will take the Sporty and an ATV for mischief purposes...maybe throw in a pan and sluice box..fish pole..Leverguns....metal detector.. All sugestions will be considered.

I have always had the wrong career inclinations... My tent is almost that big... but it folds up smaller!

Griff, I'll call that my 39' sleeper. Only 9 feet shorter than my skateboard I hauled hay on..many a trip to Texas panhandle to the organic dairys.

Hopefully, you have a class 6 or 7 power unit! When I finally do retire, that's what I'm converting my class 8 KW into, just taking the front drives off, and shortening the frame a bit... my 1650 lbs of torque, 525 hp will make a fine LQ horse hauler! My dually with a travel trail only gets in the 8-9 mpg range, The old KW ought to that without nearly any of the strain that it would be on the 1-ton!

For the little I got for my old (2001) international 9400I with Detroit 460 hp and auto shift I shoulda kept it and did the same thing. Only had 1.3 million on it. Didn't think far enough ahead. Guess my Dodge 1 ton Cummins will have to do. Going into the dealership for a fifth wheel hitch Wednesday. Wish it would stop snowing.
