Bought a few footballs

Post by Pitchy »

Thought I needed a couple footballs, for what I don`t know.
Something interesting I did learn though, one of the balls leaked bad from the valve where ya stick the needle.
Take a syringe and fill it with some egg yoke ,put the needle on it and squirt it in the ball then fill with air.
Can`t believe it works, no leak anymore.

As a NE Patriots Fan, I'm resisting any and all temptations to make a snarky response to this discussion of... underinflated footballs..............

Glad that worked for you Pitchy! Good info to know.

Thanks fellars, they sure had thinner lacings on them older balls, look how high they are on that Spalding.
They sure are slippery and hard to hold, any tips on that?

Walks with gun: I prefer my doxazosin prescription to the egg yolks ...

Ya know, thinking about this thread sure brings back great memories of playing catch with my brothers and my high school and college chums on a chilly fall day.

Thanks, that ball is still holding air 8)
I don`t know if I`ll even be able to throw one, tore up my right shoulder in May but it`s slowly getting better I can put my arm above my head now.

Pitchy when I was in late 20's, I messed up my right shoulder while doing lats during a workout with dumbbells, took 3 years to completely heal up. Don't do any throwing with rocks or balls it jus re-aggravates it. Had to learn to throw left handed.

Thanks Todd, yep may have too , I was pulling the starter rope on the board track bike I made and it was out of time and kicked back.
Pulled so hard it broke the rope and did something to my shoulder.
